Carp fishing school in autumn lake

Water and place:a small lake in South Bohemia

Date of fishing: 09.09.2017

Weather and water conditions: air temperature in the morning +8 C, afternoon +20 C, water temperature +16 C, light rain before noon, low pressure

Fishing method: carp fishing and bobber fishing (with float)

Tackle and baits: 3,0 m (10 feet) 2,75 lb carp fishing rods with 0,35 mm line and 4000 reel, then 4,0 m (13,3 feet) Trabucco match rod with light bobber. Used as baits some boilies, bread and maggots

Catch in total: approx.15 fish with average weight about 3 kg (7,5 pounds): common carp, grass carp, russian sturgeon

The biggest fish: 11,9 kg (almost 30 pounds) common carp, landed after 20 min.fight with light bobber rigging

Special features of a fishing day:My client, Dean, was a total beginner in carp fishing, though some large fish has just landed before in Australia. Due to quite cold water our first grass carps didn’t make a great “show”, however carps as usual bended rods to maximum. The russian sturgeon on boilies with dandelion fragrance and large common carp on three maggots and light tackle were very nice catches during afternoon. Finally despite of cold morning and light rain the trip fulfilled all expectations.
