Summer lure fishing on Elbe

Water and place: river Elbe in North Bohemia

Date of fishing: 18.08.2017

Weather and water conditions: air temperature +22-25 C, water temperature +21 C, partly cloudy, light wind has turned to calm evening on sunset, amazing conditions.

Fishing method: lure fishing and light game fishing

Tackle and baits: light jig tackle for perch and strong sea rod for catfish

Catch in total: many average-size perches, one two pounded chub and one nice catfish

The biggest fish: 35 pound catfish

Special features of a fishing day:Some unstocked rivers are also great for fishing, especially those, where fish has a possibility for unobstructed breeding. There are many perches, chubs, breams, carps, roaches and many another fish species in Elbe. But this time we’ve targeted neglected perch and catfish. After two great hours, when some pretty perches was pricked and more of them landed, we’ve decided to increase a lure size in order to catch river monster…. So, my friend discovered this time the difference between fishing with clonk and plug for catfish, because our efforts with clonk despite of nice weather remained unanswered while huge one-foot plug brought an outstanding catfish.
