Chasing rainbows and brookies

Water and place: river Jizera in North Bohemia

Date of fishing: 9.06.2017

Weather and water conditions: air temperature +22-27 C, water temperature +16 C, partly cloudy

Fishing method: just fly fishing

Tackle and baits: mainly nymphs and wet flies

Catch in total: rainbow, brook and brown trouts, some graylings, approx. 25 fish in total

The biggest fish: 15 inches rainbow trout

Special features of a fishing day: My client, Pecos, was a beginner in flyfishing, so we spent some time by improving cast technique and handling the fly. The fish collaborated rather in the morning, because sunshine as a main enemy of fly fishers started to blind our “scaly preys” around 11 a.m. However some nice 11–15 inches fish was deceived incl. one pretty rainbow trout, brook trouts and slimmed graylings, mainly with small czech nymphs and wet flies. The water was a little bit muddy after raining, so it was not so easy to spoke the fish. Client: Pecos, Texas, USA

Photo report:
