Icefishing (November – March)

Ice fishing for pike, rainbow and brook trout

Winter is the middle of Europe is quite long, lakes are covered by white ice crust and rivers are very unstable with their current… Is it really time to stop fishing? I say – NO! Also cold winter days can bring us fantastical pleasure not only by watching fishing channels in TV, but first of all by real fishing – ice fishing!

There are some types of ice fishing, main part of which came from the Eastern Europe: “marmyshka” is on of them. This fishing method can be compared with fly fishing due to its delicacy. However in contrast to flies “marmyshka” itself is quite rough and not so variable. I have an intention to write an article about “marmyshka”, so please subscribe to my blog for receiving last news.

Another fishing method in the winter is using live bait, for example small fish, which can wake up from hibernation pike, perch as well as rainbow trout. The small problem appears to obtain the live bait and keep it in correct temperature during winter days…

Let’s go on winter fishing!

half day fishing – 150 euro

full day fishing – 200 euro (one angler)

full day fishing – 250 euro (two anglers)

Important!!! Full day package include transfer hotel–fishing spot-hotel, permits, fishing guide, tackle hire and lunch. Weather during winter is quite unstable and unfaithful. Do not underestimate the effect of cold air and wear always warm clothes and especially shoes! After you will take care about a proper outfit, you can get really unforgettable impressions from ice fishing near Prague!
